SusTAIN 2026 invites proposals for tutorials and live "show-and-tell" demonstrations that share practical knowledge, applied research skills and working prototypes relating to sustainable technologies and engineering innovation.

We seek proposals for tutorial presentations of general interest that share practical knowledge and applied research skills relating to recent advances and future directions in sustainable technologies and engineering innovations.
All tutorial topics relevant to the conference tracks will be considered. However, priority will be given to proposals that address an emerging research area and emphasize open research questions and future directions in relation to sustainability support through technology and design.
Proposals must provide the audience with practical skills or an in-depth and contemporary survey of the chosen area, covering a comprehensive review of the relevant literature. Presenters are welcome to include examples of their own research and contributions; however, tutorials should provide a balanced and comprehensive overview of the field by highlighting significant work from the broader research community, rather than focusing solely on the presenters' own contributions.
Proposals should be for 2 hours or 4 hours — the inclusion of hands-on activities is highly preferable.
The proposal (maximum 4 pages) should concisely describe the target audience, the content and the objectives of the tutorial, and must include:

SusTAIN 2026 cordially welcomes proposals for "show-and-tell" demonstration sessions (demos) to demonstrate research prototypes and decentralized applications related to the themes of the conference tracks.
Via the demo sessions, SusTAIN 2026 offers a unique opportunity to both researchers from academia and industry to showcase applications, demonstrate ground-breaking prototypes, elucidate innovative solutions, and engage with a highly skilled audience in discussing new pertinent emerging technologies related to sustainability.
Moreover, this session offers participants an opportunity to enhance and further develop their demonstrated projects in partnership with UPM, which includes an opportunity for support or incubation for nominated project demonstrations.
Prospective contributors are expected to submit a demo proposal in the form of a 3–4 page paper in the Springer proceedings format, preferably incorporating a demo system architecture illustration. Demo papers will be peer-reviewed, and accepted papers will be included in the electronic conference proceedings bundle provided to SusTAIN 2026 delegates and subsequently submitted to the Springer Nature proceedings.
Demo proposals will be reviewed by the SusTAIN 2026 demo program committee and approved based on the availability of demo space as well as on the following selection criteria:
At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for SusTAIN 2026 at the applicable published conference registration rate and present the demonstration during the scheduled demo session. Requests for partial or full registration fee waivers will be reviewed by the Conference Technical Program Committee on a case-by-case basis.
